How to see God

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God" (Matthew 5:8).
The scriptures reveal to us that it is possible to see God. I remember growing up, we were always told at the Sunday school that no one can see God. Yes, there are places where the Bible stated such.

However, the Bible was trying to let us know that there is a way to see God.
I am moved by the way things happen in our lives once we begin to see God in spirit and in truth. That is, deeply with out hearts and in great sincerity.
Look at a few persons in the Bible who saw God, so we could learn from them.

Enoch
The first was Enoch, he walked with God to the point that God didn’t want him to die. God took him away from the world alive. (Gen. 5:21-24; Hebrews 11:5)

Abraham
The second is Abraham. God visited Abraham one day while he was sitting out in front of his house. The Lord and two Angel passed by to see him while on their way to Sodom and Gomorrah. Remember, he had just parted with Lot a few years before then, when Lot selfishly chose the best-looking part of the lands and left Abraham (whom God used to bless him) with the part he felt wasn’t good enough. Abraham demonstrated a pure heart and got the original blessing. (Genesis 18)

Moses
Next is Moses. Please bear in mind that I am giving you this list in the order that the Holy Spirit told me. You can find more.
Moses was the meekest man on earth; he endured the most difficult people of his time. (Exodus. 3 and 33)

Moses endured the Egyptians and the stiff necked Israelites. While the Egyptians demonstrated wickedness to God, the Israelites after being saved from bondage with great prosperity still remained ungrateful and murmuring against God and Moses. But Moses remained pure in his heart and God answered him when he demanded to see God. The Lord showed him His passing glory. (Exodus 30)

Gideon
Another person I have for you is Gideon. When the Lord appeared to him and called him a mighty man of valour, he marvelled and denied the title. But God insisted saying, with you alone as one man, I can defeat Median. (Judges 6 and 7). He witnessed the hand of God in battle.

These men maintained a purity of heart and because of that, they saw God.

A look at Judas

On the contrary, look at Judas in the new testament. Even when he walked with Jesus, ate with Him and listened to the messages He preached, Judas never saw God in Jesus. He was there the day the Lord preached the sermon on the mount saying, blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Yet, he did not change his mind. He didn’t understand the message, so Satan used him. Judas sold Jesus to the Pharisees and Sadducees.

I have met such people in church in the course of my ministry. They are very amazing people most times, but you can tell they are very dangerous because of the impurity of their heart.
The Bible says, to the pure, all things are pure. And to the impure, nothing is pure.

Today, the Lord is encouraging you to search your heart. Ask God for a clean and pure heart. When the spots are washed away, you will see Him and see Him clearly. He will give you victory like He gave to Enoch, Abraham, Moses, and Gideon. Everyone who encountered Him got a breakthrough.

Sometimes, I tell people that God just spoke to me, and they will wonder how it happens. When you tell them that God visited you, they imagine how true it can be. This is because they don't know that such a thing is possible. They live in the other side of life, where many things are done by human wisdom - plenty of scheming and a lot of tricks. Believe me, crooks can't see God; deceivers cannot see God. Only those people who maintain a pure heart out of the fear of not wanting to displease God or make their heart uncomfortable for the Holy Spirit to dwell.

Brothers and sisters, let your Yes be Yes and your No be a No. If you do this, the Lord will visit you and you will see Him.

In 2022, strive to see the Lord. That encounter with God will change your life forever.

God bless you
Richfield.
